Everyday Goddess Festival 2007

celebrating the feminine divine through

music, performance & the arts

The Goddess

The Goddess is that all-knowing part of us, regardless of gender.
She is far more than outward physical beauty.
She is the essence that springs forth from the depths of creativity
that encompass the innocence of the child,
playfulness of the youth, and wisdom of the great mother.

She is the place where all possibility lies,
birthing forth into light in the appropriate time
in accordance with nature and the natural rhythms of life.

It is the feminine, the soft, nurturing, patient, and supportive essence,
as well as, the dynamic strength and passionate vitality of the spirit
that is the core to the creation of life as we know it.
That is the Goddess, the all encompassing power of the feminine divine
.

Join us for the 3rd annual Everyday Goddess event Saturday March 31st! The event is named after a song by performing artist Celia which explores the multi-faceted roles, stereotypes, and gifts of women. A move to Madison and Monona Terrace means we are in the heart of a vibrant city which strongly supports the arts, education, and women. The view from Monona Terrace's main entrance faces the State Capitol down Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard. This southeast entrance is engraved with the word "FAITH" and three women grace the doorway; Ms. Wisconsin also faces this direction. Truly an auspicious location for an event focusing on the attributes of the feminine divine!

The Everyday Goddess Festival begins on Saturday at 9am and runs through 10pm, featuring incredible performing and visual artists from around the country. What is the Goddess? How does this archetype apply today in the lives of all of us - women & men? How can the arts open a doorway to understanding and unifying the divine masculine and feminine within each of us - and our world?

On Sunday we wrap up the weekend with an opportunity to experience the State Capitol in a way that few have the opportunity to do. Join Kariel for a sacred sound healing session inside the rotunda from 8-9:30am

Several of the performing artists will be providing music for Unity of Madison's 10:30am service on Sunday, April 1st. Join Ubaka Hill for her Drumsong Beyond the Edge workshop at Unity from 1-4pm. Immediately afterwards Unity of Madison is showing the film "Illusions" as part of their Spiritual Cinema series. The weekend ends with a community potluck at Unity for all who care to join at Unity at 7:00.

It's a full weekend - open to women, men, and young people. An opportunity to deepen your connection to the feminine within yourself and within all of life through the arts!
